First, Google fired 28 workers over the protests and 20 more in the following days. Now, the tech giant has reportedly laid off the entire Python Foundation team. According to a source, the company also asked them to train their replacement in the Munich office. The Google layoffs are similar to the one implemented by the company in its financial department a few weeks ago. During the layoffs at the financial department, the company moved some positions outside the country.
According to a report by Free Press Journal, Google laid off its entire Python team. The report underscored the Python programming language as sophisticated and used for general purposes. It also highlighted the dedication of the Python team, who contributed to the upstream of the language and maintained a stable version of it within Google.
