Despite the layoffs, Google Cloud's revenue grew by 28 percent to USD 9.57 billion in the latest quarter. Google CEO Sundar Pichai emphasised that the company plans to minimise layoffs in the second half of 2024. Recently, Google has undergone significant restructuring, resulting in the elimination of at least 200 employees within its core organisation. Despite the company's record profits, since early 2023, Google has been undergoing a series of layoffs.
