New Delhi, May 26: YouTube Music, the popular music streaming platform, has introduced an innovative feature that allows users to identify songs by simply humming or whistling the melody. The new feature, known as "Hum to Search" is now rolling out to Android users, making it easier than ever to discover those elusive tunes that have been stuck in your head.

As per a report of English Jagran, YouTube Music on Android can now help you find tracks by humming. YouTube Music has introduced a much-awaited feature for Android users known as “Hum to Search” to enable users to identify songs by humming or whistling a tune. In March, YouTube Music began testing this new feature. The server-side feature is now reportedly available in version 7.02 of the Android app. To use the feature, ensure your app is updated  and if the feature is not yet available to you, check back in a few days.

YouTube Music Hum to Search: How it Works

To begin, launch the YouTube Music App on your Android device. Locate the search icon within the app and find the search bar or magnifying glass symbol. Press and hold this waveform icon, then proceed to hum or whistle the tune of the song you wish to identify. The clearer and longer your tune, the greater the accuracy of the identification process will work. Upon completing your humming, YouTube Music will analyse the audio input and present potential matches for the song. Simply select the most probable match to access full song details.
