New Delhi, August 20: Google Chrome is expected to introduce a new feature that will hide sensitive data when users share their screens on Android. The upcoming update will likely enhance privacy by hiding private information like credit card details and passwords during screen sharing. Google Chrome has been a popular browser on Android devices and the new feature is expected to provide users with a new layer of security.

As per a report of Android Authority, Google Chrome will soon hide sensitive information when a user is screen-sharing on Android devices. The feature will likely be available as a Chrome Flag called “Redact sensitive content during screen sharing, screen recording and similar actions.” The Chrome Flag might allow users to hide sensitive form fields, such as credit cards and passwords, from being displayed during screen sharing or recording sessions. YouTube New Update: Google-Owned Platform Working on New Design for Its ‘Bottom Bar’ for Android Platform, May Offer Dynamic and Colourful Look.

While the specific date of release is not known yet, the new feature is anticipated to be available on Chrome Canary in the next few weeks. The feature is said to be compatible with Android devices running on version 5 and above. Chrome Flags are experimental features that Google has yet to fully roll out. They provide users with access to features that are still in the testing phase. Google Meet New Feature Update: Tech Giant Introduces New Video Calling Features in Meet for Android and iOS Users; Check Details.

The new Chrome Flag for hiding sensitive content during screen sharing is expected to detect and hide private information automatically. It means that if sensitive form fields are present on the screen, the entire content area will be hidden during sharing or recording. This level of data protection was previously available in Chrome’s Incognito Mode, which prevents screen capture by default. Once the feature is available, users who frequently share their screens or record their actions will be able to enhance their level of privacy.
