New Delhi, June 17: Google is expected to introduce an exciting new feature for its Chrome users on Android that will allow them to listen to web pages in various languages and voices. The tech giant is introducing the "Listen to this page" feature, which is expected to transform the reading experience of web pages in Google Chrome. Google is known to offer innovative features and upcoming updates will likely enhance the browsing experience by providing audio access to web content to make it easier to access the information easily.
As per a report of India Today, Google Chrome will soon let its users to listen to web pages in Hindi and more languages. The update will likely be rolled out for all stable users soon. The new feature will enable Chrome users on Android to listen to any web page in the language and voice of their choice. Available languages is expected to include English, Hindi, Bengali, Russian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Indonesian, Chinese and Arabic. The feature is similar to Safari browser for iOS, where Siri's voice can read web pages. However, unlike Safari, which requires users to leave the browser, but Google's new feature might allow its users to stay within Chrome. Previously, users could listen to web pages by giving a voice command to Google Assistant. The new feature, however, is expected to provide customisation options for languages and voices. It is also important to note that the "Listen to this page" feature may not be supported on all websites until they support this feature. How To Use "Listen to This Page" Feature on Google Chrome?
To use the new feature, open Google Chrome on your Android device. Go to the web page you want to listen to. Tap the three dots in the top right corner. Choose "Listen to this page" from the menu. Users can select from four voice types, which might include Moss (low-pitch, peaceful), Field (low-pitch, bright), Ruby (mid-pitch, warm) and River (mid-pitch, bright). Users will also have playback controls and to exit listening mode, tap "Close".
