How Smart Replies in Gmail Work
When a user starts to reply to an email, they will see three Smart Replies that are based on the entire email conversation, displayed in a carousel format. Each response has a different tone and style. Users can see a preview of the text by pressing and holding on each reply. If they tap on a response, it will be added to the email, complete with a greeting and closing. Users can either edit the suggested replies or send them right away.
