Facebook Will Introduce Lip Sync Live to Give Competition to Musical.ly, Watch Video
The Lip Sync Live, will help the user to lip sync to various songs from different genres and they can share it with their friends in real-time.
Social media site Facebook is introducing new features every now and then to attract the user base more and more. With more and more social apps coming in every other day, the perceived social media giant has to bring in new features to enhance the user experience. Musical.ly is a video social network which allows a user to create song or dialogue videos and even a live broadcasting. One can create about minute-long lip-synced music videos. The application was introduced in August last year but is seeing tremendous popularity today. Taking a cue from it, Facebook is now trying to ape the lip sync concept.
The Lip Sync Live, will help the user to lip sync to various songs from different genres and they can share it with their friends in real-time. It will be accessible while starting a live video, along with a feature to add descriptions. As you go live and lip sync the songs, your Facebook friends can comment on it. A 'Live With' feature will allow a user to collaborate with friends. To make a variety of songs available, the social media has partnered with major names in the music industry. In the start, one can lip sync to hundreds of popular songs like "Happier" by Ed Sheeran, "God's Plan" by Drake. The feature will first be available to select states and once the global rollout happens, there will be more songs added to the list.

Facebook is already experiencing a decrease in the number of users, especially teenagers. So these new features seem to be a move to attract the people of that age group. While videos remain the ultimate preference, with YouTube being the majorly used platform by the teenagers, maybe that is why Facebook too is targeting making videos but with lip sync. The major difference here is the feature will be available for a live broadcast. Facebook wants to get copyrighted music in the content while they share it on their wide platform. So if you are a fan on making short clip videos or more so of Musical.ly, then Facebook is going to get better for you in the new features.
