Bengaluru, September 3: Dozee, a healthcare startup based in Bengaluru, reportedly fired 20% of its workforce. The layoffs initiated by Dozee affected the 40 to 50 people from customer success on-field staff, marketing, and sales teams. A report said that the reason for Dozee's layoffs announced by the healthcare company was to reduce losses and go global.

Founded in 2015, Dozee develops and deploys intelligent technologies, solutions and networks for patient monitoring. Dozee's patient monitoring system allows healthcare workers to remotely overview key indicators of patient's health, such as heart rate, blood pressure and temperature, among other things. MasOrange Layoffs: Spain’s Mobile Operator To Lay Off Around 795 Employees Amid Cost-Cutting Measures; Check Details.

Besides, the company offers early warning systems and responses about patient's healthcare system before it worsens to save their lives. Inc42 first reported about the Dozee layoffs and said that the company had told "there was no reduction in its manpower"; however, due to the reallocation of resources, a "minuscule" number of people were affected.

The report mentioned that amid its layoff exercise last month, Dozee fired around 40 to 50 people from the workforce. The Bengaluru-based healthcare startup had around 250 to 270 people in total. Despite the employees being fired from several teams, the Dozee spokesperson maintained that there was no manpower reduction.

The report said that, according to one source, the employees were told that the job cuts were not related to performance but rather to the company's restructuring to bring down costs. The Dozee spokesperson said that a "very minuscule number" of employees were affected by the workforce reduction.

The spokesperson further added that the reallocation of the resources was part of Dozee's growth strategy and would allow it to focus more on HealthAI, global business development and clinical research. The person also added that it was a natural part of the life cycle of any organisation's growth journey to reallocate resources to attend to evolving business needs. More Gaming Layoffs: Swedish Game Developer Toadman Interactive Lays Off 100 Employees To Save Costs, Says Facing Tough Period.

The report highlighted a source who said that the Bengaluru-based startup has already struggled to grow its healthcare business in India and is now aiming for the US market.
