New Delhi, September 15: Walt Disney and DirecTV reportedly announced a new agreement that restores programming to over 11 million satellite TV subscribers. As per reports, Disney and DirecTV have resolved their disagreement and are once again working together. The dispute had prevented cable subscribers from accessing ESPN, ABC, and other networks since the beginning of September.

Due to the dispute, DirecTV subscribers were unable to watch popular programs, such as football games and the US Open tennis tournament, which were broadcast on ESPN. Additionally, they missed out on the U.S. presidential debate on ABC News. Spotify New Feature Update: Audio Streaming Platform Introduces New Parental Control Feature ‘Managed Account’ To Manage Music Streaming Options for Kids.

In the past, Disney removed its ABC stations, ESPN, and other cable networks from DirecTV because they couldn't agree on a new distribution deal. The main issue was the fees that Disney charged for its content, which DirecTV felt were too high. Despite weeks of negotiations, the two companies were not able to reach an agreement, resulting in the removal of Disney-owned channels from DirecTV. Approximately 11 million DirecTV subscribers are impacted by this situation.

As per a report of Business Standard, Walt Disney and DirecTV announced they reached an agreement to restore programming for DirecTV’s subscribers. As part of the new deal, DirecTV will offer packages that include Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu. Moreover, the deal will likely allow DirecTV to offer Disney’s upcoming ESPN direct-to-consumer service at no extra cost when it launches. DirecTV might also provide its customers with genre-specific packages, which may include entertainment, sports, and family content, according to a report of The Verge. Google Testing New ‘Desktop Windowing’ Mode for Android Tablets; Check Details.
