Apple is facing a tough time in India, including the loss of three key executives as the tech giant is trying to beat the single-digit market share in the country. Reportedly, those quitting include Rahul Puri, who was head of national sales, distribution and operator business; Jayant Gupta who used to head iPhone sales, modern trade and Apple Premium Retail stores; and Manish Sharma, national sales head for telecom.

According to a report on Gizmodo, with the departure of the executives, the Indian sales division is now being restructured. The news of the exit of the top officials from the company spell trouble, especially at a time, the company is struggling with import tariffs, which have caused an increase in Apple products. As a result of which, consumers are increasingly opting for brands such as Xiaomi Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co.

According to an Economic Times report, Apple has devised a new strategy, which will include blacklisting retailers, if they pick up products from the wholesalers that sell at a discount. The intention behind the exercise is to crackdown on rebates, strengthen sales audit in India, and stressing on selling products at MRP to rebuild the brand's marquee status. It will be interesting to see, if the new strategy can help Apple to increase their sales in the country.
