Samsung, a Korean electronic major launched the much awaited Galaxy Note 9 smartphone on the global front last week at an event in New York. Launched with a starting price of $999 globally, the new Galaxy Note 9 is currently available for pre-order in India. Ahead of the launch of Galaxy Note 9, the Korean smartphone maker has officially reduced the prices for Note 8. The company has slashed the prices by Rs. 12,000. Launched last year in India, the phablet was priced at Rs. 67,900. Now, the price for Note 8 has come down to Rs. 55,900, which is available on Amazon India and Samsung's online store. The Korean smartphone making company is also offering additional cashback of Rs. 4,000 for HDFC credit card users. On the specification front, the Galaxy Note 8 comes powered by an Exynos 8895 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD cards. It also comes with a 6.3-inch QuadHD+ Infinity Display featuring resolution of 1440×2960 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. For photography, the Note 8 features a dual rear camera with 12MP sensors and an 8MP front camera with HDR. Up-gradable to Android Oreo 8.0, the smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. It comes fitted with in-house developed Exynos octa-core processor mated up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 1TB. It also comes with a dual rear camera (12MP) and an 8MP selfie shooter. It now comes with improved battery backup of 4000 mAh.
