Smartphones were designed to simplify our daily lives. But, no could have ever thought that it could claim someone's life. One such incident is where Cradle Fund CEO, Nazrin Hassan died when one of his smartphones exploded while charging in the bedroom. As per the reports, it is believed that the initial explosion resulted in some minor injuries which seem to have incapacitated the man further resulting in his death due to fire.
According to his brother-in-law, the mattress caught fire, but Nazrin was already dead when that happened. However, it not yet confirmed at this point, but it appears that the smartphone caused trauma to Nazrin's head when it exploded.
According to The Malaysian Insight, Hassan’s brother-in-law said in a message that “He had two phones, one Blackberry and a Huawei. We don’t know which one exploded. Who would have thought such an innocuous routine procedure is the reason three young kids will grow up without their father by their side.”
Meanwhile, the Police till now came to the conclusion that Nazrin was trapped in the fire that broke out in the bedroom and died due to smoke inhalation. Moreover, Nazrin not only suffered injury marks due to the explosion but also had significant burns all over this body.
Talking about the company, Cradle Fund is a Ministry of Finance company in Malaysia which assists the tech entrepreneurs and startups. The company had previously funded local firms such as ride-hailing app Grab and fintech startup iMoney.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was the only phone which has been recalled in the world due to the hazards that it has caused. However, many users reported explosions and fires, but there was no major life claiming accidents involving Samsung's smartphone.
