ColorOS 7 With Dark Mode, Camera X, Redesigned Icons & DocVault Launched in India; Check New Features

As a part of Artist Wallpaper Project, Oppo has also introduced new artistic wallpapers followed by nature-based sound effects.

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has officially launched the highly-awaited Android 10-based ColorOS 7 in the country. This in-house developed ColorOS 7 comes with new features, which will be rolled out according to the road map recently revealed by the company. Moreover, the company also shared the changes that Oppo users can expect from the new OS along with India-centric features. According to the company, over 300 million users are using ColorOS worldwide in more than 140 countries. Oppo has also revealed the details about the ColorOS 7 rollout for its smartphones, and it is called ColorOS 7 Trial Version plan. ColorOS 7 will also bring Oppo Relax, which is designed to proffer new soothing sound effects, notification sounds, tones and alerts. The company will be launching this new app by early 2020. Additionally, the company has also introduced some improvements to the three-finger gestures.

Further, Oppo also confirmed that the Dark Mode would be available across the entire OS, which will result in about 38 percent reduction in power consumption. For improved animations, ColorOS 7 will feature a new Quantum animation engine along with several free themes.

The oMem technology introduced on ColorOS 7 will majorly focus on improved app performance, which is claimed to result in 25 percent improvement in app startup times and 40 percent improvement in RAM utilisation. The new ColorOS 7 also gets new privacy-related features including App Lock for encrypting apps, and Privacy Safe for hiding files.

For camera section, Oppo has added new AI Beautification 2 to the ColorOS 7 that is designed to detect different scenes, environments, and lighting conditions, ensuring best-suited beautification for skin tone. It also gets a new Ultra Dark Mode for improved night-time photography, which employs AI to detect noise levels for reducing noise with the help of a special night scene algorithm. Apart from these, Oppo also added Soloop video editor, Camera X, DocVault, new Riding Mode, Music Party and more.
