New Delhi, September 21: Indian IT companies are reportedly resuming campus recruitment after a long break. Major IT firms like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro are planning to hire fresh talent from college campuses. The return to hiring signals an improving job market within the IT sector, which has experienced slowdowns and delays in recruitment. As per reports, IT companies such as IBM, Infosys, TCS, and LTIMindtree have started visiting college campuses for the recruitment process in July.

As per a report of Business Today, Indian IT companies are resuming campus hiring after a year-long break. The initial phase of placements began in July. The recruitment process will bring new job opportunities for students entering the job market in 2024. This year, IT companies are changing their hiring practices. Instead of hiring in bulk, IT companies are likely to focus on finding skilled programmers and digital specialists. The recruiters may focus on areas like cloud computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. TCS might hire around 40,000 new graduates, while Infosys may be looking to hire in between 15,000 and 20,000 fresh graduates through campus and off-campus recruitment. According to reports, the process for campus placements has become tougher this year. There are now higher cut-off scores, and there is a focus on specific skills and certifications. To be eligible for placements, students now need to have at least a 70 per cent score, up from 60 per cent last year. Companies will be looking more than traditional coding tests to evaluate candidates. The IT companies might also check social media profiles and relevant certifications to know about candidate's skills, background, and experience.
