Asus, a well-known Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, will be launching its flagship device - Zenfone 5z in India on July 4 at 12.30 pm. The flagship device will be sold in India exclusively via Flipkart. The smartphone was announced globally earlier this year at MWC 2018 and finally will launch in India by next month. The announcement for the same was made through Flipkart in the form of a teaser by revealing the launch date and time along with essential specifications.

Talking about the upcoming Zenfone 5z, the flagship smartphone will compete in the sub-Rs. 40,000 price bracket against the likes of Honor 10 and OnePlus 6. Moreover, the Honor 10 smartphone is retailed via Flipkart whereas OnePlus 6 smartphone is made available through Amazon India. The company unveiled the Asus Zenfone 5 series at MWC 2018 including Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5 Lite and Zenfone 5z. However, the company has not launched any of the smartphones in the country, and Zenfone 5z seems to be the first of the lot to be launched in India. On the specifications front, Zenfone 5z will carry a 6.2-inch FHD+ display screen with a notch at the top. Likely to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 SoC, the smartphone could get up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB internal storage memory. For optics, the flagship product will carry a dual rear camera featuring 12MP primary sensor and 8MP secondary sensor, wherein the latter proffers wide-angle shooting as well as portrait mode shots. At the front, the smartphone will carry an 8MP shooter for selfie and video calling. Already offered in few markets, the Zenfone 5z attract buyers with a price tag of €479 which is approximately Rs. 38,000. As far as the competition is concerned, the smartphone will take on against OnePlus 6, Honor 10 and others with an aim to provide users with an affordable flagship device. As a reminder, Asus recently launched Zenfone Max Pro M1 that was retailed online exclusively via Flipkart as well. With the collaboration with the e-commerce platform, the company has managed to keep the prices for the smartphone pretty competitive.
