ASUS, a popular Taiwanese tech company has been in news for the last couple of days. Recently, ASUS CEO - Jerry Shen resigned from his position after 11 long years at helm of affairs. The phone maker had recently mentioned that it would be shifting its product strategies to focus on gaming smartphones. This statement generated several news stating that Asus is shutting down its Zenfone series. The news spread like a wildfire and the company released a statement to clarify the issue. According to the statement from Asus, the company has clearly specified that it will continue to release smartphones under Zenfone series and it will also be focusing on the gaming smartphone. The company is looking to cater the needs for the gamers by introducing more powerful and better gaming devices. ASUS said - "With regard to the doubts raised by some on the continuation of the ZenFone brand, we confirm that we will continue to develop the ZenFone series, while also aiming to expand the gaming smartphone market. We will focus on perfecting solutions for gamers and power users."

Several reports also claim that ASUS will be increasing its investment in AI and IoT. The Taiwanese tech company will be looking to cater more commercial areas to diversify its product portfolio that is currently focused on customer devices.

Post Jerry Shen, the leadership at ASUS will be taken care by two CEO’s Sy Shu (who heads PC division) and Samsun Hu (heading global service dept). Both the officials will serve as co-CEOs.

As a reminder, ASUS launched some exciting smartphones this year that includes Zenfone 5z, Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max M2, Zenfone Max Pro M2. Recently, the company launched its gaming smartphone - ASUS ROG Phone in India.
