Asus India will be launching the new ROG Phone 2 gaming smartphone today in the country. The prices for the gaming phone will be revealed later at the event.
Asus ROG Phone 2 was launched in the China market earlier this year in July. Further expanding its reach in other markets, the Taiwanese phone maker will be launching the gaming smartphone today in India. The main highlights of the new ROG Phone 2 are 48MP dual rear camera, 120Hz AMOLED display, massive 6,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 855+ SoC, up to 12GB of RAM and much more.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the new Asus ROG Phone 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 855+ processor. The new chipset is claimed to offer a 15 percent increase in graphics performance as compared to its predecessor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The chipset on the gaming phone will be clubbed with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The handset is likely to sport an upgraded 120-Hz 6.59-inch FHD+ display screen featuring 2340 x 1080 pixels of resolution. Another highlight of the gaming device will be 6,000 mAh with 25W fast charging technology.
In the camera department, the gaming phone will feature a dual camera module at the rear comprising of a 48MP primary shooter along with 13MP sensor. At the front, the handset will get a 24 MP camera for selfies and video calling. The new ROG Phone 2 will also get an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Lastly, the phone maker will be eyeing a competitive price tag, which could be in-line with the China market. The 8GB RAM + 128GB version in China is priced at CNY 3,499 (around Rs. 35,000). On the other hand, the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage version is priced at CNY 5,999 (approximately roughly Rs. 60,000).
