Beijing, July 5: Taiwanese tech major ASUS has confirmed to launch the next-generation gaming-centric phone ROG Phone 2 on July 23 in China, media reported on Friday. The company has started sending out media invites for the launch, news portal GSMArena reported. The firm has also announced its partnership with Tencent Games for the creation of the next-generation gaming smartphone. The specifications of the upcoming smartphone are not disclosed yet, but the device is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core 7nm flagship processor, and paired with up to 12GB RAM.
The smartphone recently got the 3C certification, revealing it will come with 30W fast charging support. The original ROG Phone also supported 30W fast charging.
In addition, the phone might have a cooling system like its predecessor. The next ROG Phone could feature a triple camera while last year's model was equipped with a dual-camera setup. So far, the company has not revealed anything about the upcoming gaming-centric phone's arrival in markets outside China.
