The feature is expected to make browsing smoother by hiding cookie preference pop-ups, sign-in prompts and other distracting elements from webpages. As per a report of India Today, Apple is bringing new Distraction Control features to Safari. The latest Distraction Control feature will reportedly hide unnecessary elements from webpages, such as cookie preference banners and sign-in prompts. The change is expected to streamline the browsing experience by allowing users to focus on the content without being interrupted by frequent pop-ups. The new feature called Distraction Control is currently available for iOS 18 beta users. Right now, developers can access the Distraction Control feature through the 5th beta releases of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. However, it is expected to be made available to public beta testers very soon, so more people can try out this feature.
To activate Distraction Control, users should visit the Page Menu and choose Hide Distracting Items. Users can then select the area or content they want to hide to stay focused. The feature will likely be helpful for getting rid of pop-ups while shopping or while browsing. The feature works on Apple devices like MacBook, iPhone and iPad by allowing users to hide specific page elements.
