Apple Watch User Ian Zeibo Switches to Analogue After Nine Years, Says ‘I Realized That I Didn’t Like Having Notifications on My Wrist’

Ian Zeibo, a young person studying 3D design and engineering said he switched to using analogue watch after nine years of using Apple Watch. He said he didn't like having notification on his wrist and would never go back to Apple's smartwatch, here's why.

Palo Alto, August 19: Apple Watches have been credited with saving lives and helping people in tough situations. However, Apple's smartwatches are not for all users. Recently, a user posted on social media that he switched to analogue after nine years of using Apple Watch. He started wearing it when he was a child, and since then, he has continued having it on his wrist for nearly a decade. 

Ian Zeibo, a young boy studying 3D design and engineering in the US, said he switched back to analogue watches after releasing them and did not like receiving the notifications on his wrist. Besides, Ian said he started wearing analogue for eight months and would never return to the smartwatches. Ian Zeibo, currently studying at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, said he liked rocking an Apple smartwatch in his hand. His journey with Apple Watch began when he was in sixth grade. He said, "got an Apple Watch a week after launch day in 6th grade". Upon posting about switching to an analogue on Elon Musk's social media platform X, an Apple enthusiast sent a DM wanting the Apple Watch. He revealed that he stopped wearing an Apple smartwatch and started wearing a TUDOR Black Bay 58 925 silver watch on his wrist, which costs around USD 4,650 (around INR 3,90,204). Users commented to him on X, sharing their opinions. A user said, "I just wear both." The other users kept sharing their analogue watches in the thread of the post. A user posted that he used to turn off all the notifications when he wore his Apple Watch and used it for passive health and fitness. Ian Zeibo said that he turned off a lot as he always felt disconnected. He said, "I like the barrier of my phone in my pocket".
