California, October 29: Apple has warned users that those with old models such as the iPhone 5 and other older models need an update or else they will stop working. The deadline for the same is Sunday, November 3. Users of old Apple model have to ensure that they update their iOS to iOS 10.3.4. The Apple devices that need an update to keep working are the devices that were released in 2012 or earlier than that. “Starting just before 12:00 a.m. UTC on November 3, 2019, iPhone 5 will require an iOS update to maintain accurate GPS location and to continue to use functions that rely on correct date and time including App Store, iCloud, email, and web browsing,” read one of the Apple statements. “It's always a good idea to keep the operating system on your iPhone updated. If you have an iPhone 5, it's especially important to update your device's software wirelessly or using your computer before November 3 to maintain accurate GPS location and to continue to use functions that rely on correct date and time including App Store, iCloud, email, and web browsing,” said the Apple statement.
If the users of these phones are unable to update their models to the iOS mentioned, they will have to restore their device. Users will also have to back up their data using a computer. One of the reasons users do not update to the latest iOS is because it is said to affect the battery performance. However, now they are left with no option.
