San Francisco, November 23: Apple has announced that it will repair iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models suffering from an issue that affects the speakers for free. In a new bulletin, the Cupertino-based tech giant said that a "very small percentage" of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are experiencing issues with the receiver because of a component that might fail on the receiver module.
As of right now, this issue is known to only affect the base iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro variants, and not the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apple is giving the appropriate device owners three options to choose from and notes that affected devices will be examined before any repair work is actually started in order to make sure that each phone qualifies for the free repair program. Apple iPhone 12 Series Sales Reportedly Surpassed 100 Million Units Mark in April 2021.
The options include finding an Authorized Apple Service Provider. One can make a service appointment at a nearby Apple Store. Lastly, users can also directly contact the Apple's support team to arrange for the iPhone to be mailed to the brand.
All three options will also ask you to type in your Apple ID as well and the company has even asked users to "get your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ready for service". Apple also noted that if an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro has any damage that "impairs the ability to complete the repair", it will be addressed first.
