Cupertino, June 24: Apple Vision Pro was launched in the US on February 2, 2024, with powerful mixed reality capabilities and comfortable design. However, the device was introduced at $3,499 (around Rs 2,92,200), which was too expensive for many tech enthusiasts. Considering the other competitors like Meta offered their devices at five times lower cost around $499. Recently, Apple announced that it would bring its Vision Pro MR headset to more countries this year. 

The rumours about Apple Vision Pro 2 have been going on for quite some time about its likely launch and new features. However, a report said that Apple stopped working on the next-gen Vision Pro and began focusing on more affordable models with high-resolution displays. The model called "N109" is reportedly in the works and would come with changes in the design. Apple Vision Pro's price is $3,499, which makes the headset a bit expensive, highlighted as one reason the company will witness lower sales in the future. Apple's new move to halt the development of Vision Pro 2 would prioritise launching a more affordable version of the VR headset. The Apple N109 headset is expected to arrive in the market next year. The Apple Vision Pro sales have slowed down since the launch in February. Apple's new 'N109' headset is expected to feature a lighter headband, high-resolution display, smaller speakers and fewer cameras. This upcoming AR/VR device would be one-third lighter than the current Vision Pro MR headset. Apple reportedly struggled to bring down the cost of its Vision Pro without leaving some features out; however, the tech giant would stay committed to bringing new experiences in augmented reality and virtual reality through its upcoming lighter headset.
