According to reports, the company is eyeing Pune as a possible location for producing AirPod cases as well. Apple might begin manufacturing iPads in India again, which is reportedly said to be a result of the government's efforts to encourage more supply chains into the country.
As per a report of CNBC TV18, Apple may bring back its plans to make iPads in India. The report also suggests that the company is also considering Pune for producing AirPod cases. Last year, Apple changed its focus for iPad product development to Vietnam in collaboration with BYD. AirPods could become the next Apple product to be made in India after the iPhone. Apple has begun testing the production of wireless charging case components with Jabil in Pune and the company might also work with Foxconn for this, according to a report of Money Control. Jabil Inc. is an American company, that also manufactures 4G and 5G gear for Ericsson. Apple might have also plans to increase its iPhone production in India from 14 percent to 25 percent over the next three to four years.
