Cupertino, July 29: Apple Intelligence was unveiled at WWDC 2024 last month, giving a first look at the upcoming mobile experience for iPhones. Apple confirmed that its new Apple Intelligence features will be rolled out in iOS 18 this year; however, a report mentioned that the launch of the AI features would be delayed to the iOS 18.1 OS update.
Bloomberg reported that the Apple Intelligence release will be delayed more than anticipated compared to the initial launch timeline. The report mentioned that the reasons for delaying the Apple AI features were the tech giant's fixing bugs and software overhauls. The report highlighted that Apple was planning to roll out the Apple Intelligence in October, which might be a month after the launch of the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Further, it mentioned that the tech giant will launch its Apple Intelligence after initially rolling out the iOS 18 and iPadOS update in September. Bloomberg said that Apple Intelligence would be rolled out once the early testing of all the eligible devices is complete as soon as this week. The Apple Intelligence features initially will be rolled out in the iOS 18.1 beta and iPadOS 18.1 beta updates.
Apple Intelligence, as seen before, introduced several new features related to the smartphone and promised more in future updates. Apple's early AI or machine learning-based system showed the basic features that were expected to have major upgrades in the coming years. Apple reportedly would launch this system on devices including the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPad and Mac with M1 chip and all the later versions. The report further said that the launch of Apple Intelligence rollout was delayed due to the European Union tech rules requiring the tech giant to ensure that competitor products and services would work on the system.
