Cupertino, November 13: Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a new device with a smaller size and cutting-edge technology and capabilities in the market. The upcoming Apple device will be an AI wall tablet that will help Home Control users connect with Siri and attend video calls. Information about the Apple iPad-like device was leaked recently, hinting at the device's 6-inch display and ability to be wall-mounted just like a television.

Bloomberg reported that the upcoming Apple product with a 6-inch display would allow users to tap on cameras and doorbells to run Apple's apps. The report mentioned that the device would support the new OS and also the Apple Intelligence features. Mark Gurman wrote that Apple CEO Tim Cook expected that the new iPad-like product would help the company enter the smart home segment. Apple Making Its First Foray in Smart Home IP Camera Market, Set To Begin Production in 2026 As It Secures NPI Supplier Goertek: Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Time Cook reportedly commissioned the company's engineering and design departments to invest three years in the development. The device will support Apple's most used applications, such as Siri, Safari browser, and FaceTime. The report highlighted that the device would be like a square iPad and offer other capabilities, such as a camera, thick-edge display, and rechargeable battery. Apple Releases iOS 18.2 Beta 3 With New Camera Control; Check Features and Other Details.

Mark Gurman termed the device an 'Apple HomePad," similar to the HomePod introduced by the company to experience audio and music. According to the report, the product would be marketed as a "way to control home appliances, chat with Siri and hold intercom sessions" via the FaceTime software. Further, to boost engagement, the tech giant may include other features like web browsing, getting news updates, playing music and more. The "Apple Homepad" may allow users to get notifications of calendars and notes. It may also allow them to run a slideshow of photos on the display.
