Apple Files Patent Request Titled ‘Stretchable Display’, Aiming To Launch Devices With Screens That Can Stretch Not Fold: Reports
According to reports, Apple filed patent request in the United States titled "Stretchable Display" of 22 pages and having 13 images. The report said that Apple stretchable displays would likely be announced for iPhone, iPad and MacBook platforms.

According to a report by AppleInsider, "Apple is working on stretchable displays" for its upcoming smartphone. The report mentioned that the upcoming "iPhone Fold" could feature a display that may stretch, unlike other foldable smartphones in the market. As per other reports, Apple filed a patent in the United States, which hinted at the possible innovations coming in the smartphone market, especially in the new category of iPhones.
In 2026, Apple is expected to replace the iPad Mini with its new foldable iPad. The same goes for the Macbook Pro, which might be replaced by the tech giant with a foldable iPad. From the foldable iPhone to the foldable iPad and foldable Macbook, the tech giant has been rumoured to launch devices that could "fold." However, the report said that the term "foldable" might not be appropriate as the company has been going off-the-track by launching its devices with "stretchable displays." It mentioned that the whole patent application had been a light example of how stretchable displays could be used.
