New Delhi, October 28: Apple will reportedly offer a substantial reward of over INR 8 crore to anyone who can successfully hack into its Apple Intelligence servers. This initiative is part of an expanded bug bounty programme aimed at enhancing the security of Apple's AI-driven services. The tech giant is keen to identify any vulnerabilities in its Private Cloud Compute (PCC) platform before launching new features associated with Apple Intelligence.
As per a report of India Today, Apple will pay over USD 1 million (around INR 8 crore) to anyone who can successfully hack its AI servers. The hefty payout is part of Apple’s bug bounty programme, which encourages ethical hackers to find and report security flaws. Apple is said to have organised its vulnerabilities into three main categories, each with different reward levels that reflect the level of risk and complexity involved. The approach shows that Apple is taking steps to strengthen its platform and protect it from cyber threats.
Rewards under Apple's Bug Bounty Programme
Apple has provided important resources to assist researchers in understanding and working with Private Cloud Compute (PCC). As per reports, Apple is offering rewards of up to USD 250,000 who can identify vulnerabilities that could lead to data exposure on their Apple Intelligence servers. Apple is also focusing on fixing security vulnerabilities that might let an attacker to gain unauthorised access to PCC by exploiting user requests. If someone successfully breaches this category, Apple will offer up to USD 1 million, if it involves arbitrary code execution affecting user data. Apple will also offer rewards up to USD 1,50,000 for vulnerabilities that originate from internal access points within the PCC system. It may involve privilege escalation, potentially granting attackers access to sensitive data.
