Amazon Smartphone Exchange Scam: X User Warns About Rabbit Exchange App Scam, Shares Experience of Exchanging His Redmi Note 13 Pro for OnePlus 12 on Amazon
X user shared information about an Amazon exchange smartphone scam while he ordered OnePlus 12 exchanging his Redmi Note 13 Pro getting INR 20,650 exchange value. He warned users about Rabbit Exchange App scam.
Mumbai, July 28: An user posted on X warning about the smartphone exchange scam on Amazon and advised people not to buy any product on Amazon. The X user posted an image of the OnePlus 12 smartphone, which he said he ordered in exchange for his Redmi Note 13 Pro. He said that after placing the OnePlus 12 order, he had trouble authenticating it and added did not receive the product at all.
Parag Rastogi (@ParasRastogi83), an X user, shared his experience with Amazon's smartphone exchange, which he termed a "scam" that did not fulfill his hopes of buying a flagship smartphone. This incident got him to speak about it on social media platform X. Paras Rastogi, an engineer by profession, previously worked at Guiding Tech (@GuidingTech) and is now working with Gadget To Use (@gadgettouse) and UK-based Alphr (@Alphr) platforms. Paras Rastogi, X User's Post on Amazon Exchange Scam Alert
Paras Rastogi said he intended to sell his Redmi Note 13 Pro via Amazon Exchange and get the flagship OnePlus 12 smartphone in an exchange offer. He shared a screenshot and confirmed he was getting INR 20,650 exchange value. After that, he said a delivery guy came to him and installed the Rabbit Exchange app on his device to IMEI number, which he said "was correctly mentioned". After scanning, the delivery guy's app showed an error - "product not matched with the order".
After trying many times to scan, the delivery guy couldn't succeed and suggested contacting Amazon Customer Care. Paras Rastogi said he got weird responses from customers after four interactions care, such as "its a technical fault", "maybe Exchange isn't available at your place", and "we can't do anything, sir; you have to cancel the order". The X user said the lack of response from Amazon scattered his hopes, making him cancel his order for the OnePlus 12. He also shared a screenshot of the Rabbit Exchange app showing negative reviews. Paras Rastogi said, "RABBIT EXCHANGE APP IS A SCAM," and added he was waiting for a refund and would never exchange anything from Amazon.
