Since the new announcement created a minor hysteria, many stores and shops have stopped accepting the Rs 2,000 notes. While you can go to a bank, you can only get up to Rs 20,000 converted into cash.
Now, Amazon has announced a new 'Cash Load at Doorstep Service' initiative which will allow customers to simply hand over Rs 2,000 notes to the Amazon delivery agent during cash-on-delivery orders.
The delivery agent will directly deposit into your Amazon Pay wallet. You don't need a bank account to complete this transaction.
"Staying true to our mission, we will continue to provide holistic experiences to our customers by facilitating such simplified solutions and further catalyze the digital payments revolution in India," said Vikas Bansal, the Whole-time Director at Amazon Pay India.
You can use the amount in your Amazon Pay wallet to make bill payments, recharges, and making purchases on Amazon. However, you can deposit only up to Rs 50,000 every month. Also, to avail of this benefit, you need to complete your KYC on the Amazon app.
Please note that the new service is only applicable for cash on delivery orders. However, you can over additional cash and get it added to your Amazon Pay balance. WhatsApp New Feature Update: Messaging Platform Releases New Icons for Communities, Groups on Android Beta.
