Bharti Airtel, country's second largest telecom service provider on Tuesday officially announced the launch of 4G services in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The service provider became the first operator to proffer such high-speed data services in these islands. As per the press release from the telecom provider, the Airtel 4G services will be initially available in Port Blair only. As a reminder, Airtel was the first private telecomm operator to launch mobile services in the islands in the year 2005. These 4G services from Airtel will benefit local residents and tourists by proffering high speed data connectivity via FDD 4G network.

These services are launched as a part of Airtel’s Project Leap programme through a 4G video call, which was made by Member of Parliament Bishnu Pada Ray and Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Govt. of India. Airtel's Wynk Music Most Entertaining App of 2018 on Google Play.

Aruna Sundararajan mentioned that, "The launch of 4G services in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is another major milestone towards fulfilling our vision of digitally connected India. We ensure the industry of continued support in their efforts to provide broadband access to every Indian."

Moreover, Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel mentioned in a statement that, "Having given the islands its first mobile network in 2005, we now look forward to serving customers with world-class high speed data services and invite them to experience our 4G network."
