The upcoming pay per view will be the thirty-third event under the Survivor Series chronology, and the first one to feature the NXT brand. The rivalry of Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio has been in news for quite a long time. The Beast Incarnate had put his hands on Rey Mysterio and his son Dominic before WWE Crown Jewel 2019. Mysterio then bought Cain Velasquez to fight Lesnar for WWE Championship, however, Beast Incarnate easily won that match at Crown Jewel. After the match, Lesnar went on to assault Velasquez, which forced Mysterio to come in rescue of his friend and give Beast Incarnate the taste of his own medicine. A week after Crown Jewel, Lesnar came to Raw in search of Mysterio, however, the WWE Champion yet again got attacked by a steel rod by 'The Ultimate Underdog'.
