The latest episode of SmackDown LIVE began with Renee Young introducing Daniel Bryan to a huge pop from the crowd. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Universe broke into the ‘Yes!’ chants as he entered the ring. Bryan is asked about his last week’s loss to Rusev. Bryan mentioned how when he made a comeback to WWE he was happy to be back, but he wants more.
Bryan is interrupted by Big Cass who mocks him and hurls slurs at his wife, Brie Bella; fans start booing Cass. Bryan loses it and unloads a barrage of hits before officials intervene to stop his assault. At his menacing best, Bryan also locked Cass into a heel-hook submission; Cass limps away backstage and Bryan get along the crowds with the ‘yes’ chant.
The first match of the night was between The New Day & The Bar; with the winner, qualifying to nominate a member in their team to participate in the ‘Money in The Bank’ Ladder match next month. The tag-team match saw The New Day emerge as the winners of the match.
SmackDown Women Champion Carmella’s championship celebration – Mellabration – was interrupted by SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige. She announced that she would be defending her title against Asuka. Carmella chides her decision and walks away as Asuka stares her down.

Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas, who was accompanied by manager Zelina Vega, made his debut in the ring on SmackDown LIVE. Almas feuded with a local enhancement talent and emerged victorious in his first bout on the show. There’s a video segment which shows Samoa Joe issue a challenge to Big Cass for their MITB qualifying match against Big Cass next week.
The main event of the night saw Shinsuke Nakamura locking horns with AJ Styles. The gruelling bout sees the crowd chant ‘this is awesome’ as both the WWE Superstars put on a great show. However, the fight is marred with Nakamura resorting to cheap tactics in the end. The referee is involved too; Nakamura takes advantage of the situation and nails his finishing move ‘Kinshasa’ for a win. Nakamura would be choosing the stipulation to their Money In The Bank match on a later date. SmackDown LIVE goes off-air as he talks trash while AJ is pinned on the mat.
