The latest episode of SmackDown LIVE, on June 5, took place at the American Bank Centre in Texas, in the United States. For those World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) fans that missed the weekly show, here’s a review of what happened at SmackDown LIVE, last night. The show kicked-off with the announcers hyping the six-man tag-team match – Rusev, The Miz and Samoa Joe vs The New Day – in the main event of the night.

The show began with SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella playing the role of a perfect heel. She mocked Asuka and how ‘The Age of Asuka’ was over. The Women’s Champion ran down her ‘Money In The Bank (MITB)’ Pay-per-view (PPV) opponent and also taunted her with how has she hasn’t been able to move on over her Wrestlemania 34 loss to Charlotte Flair.

There were quite a few other matches in the night that saw the WWE fans rally behind and support their favourite superstars in the arena. However, the major event that took place in the night was the contract signing between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.

During the contract signing, the WWE Champion Styles slapped Nakamura after the latter tried to play mind games with the former, all over again. The duo, eventually, signed the MITB 2018 match between them with the stipulation of ‘Last Man Standing’. The SmackDown LIVE General Manager guaranteed that there will be a winner at MITB 2018.

List of All Matches' Results at SmackDown LIVE Episode on June 5:

2. Harper vs Karl Anderson Singles Match Karl Anderson

5. The New Day vs. The Miz, The Rusev and Samoa Joe Tag-team Match The New Day

The night ended with an eventful tag-team match that saw The Miz, Samoa Joe and Rusev lock horns with The New Day.

Initially, it was The New Day that had a better of their opponents. However, when Samoa Joe was tagged, the tables turned in no time. Nonetheless, the chemistry in the New Day team saw them rebound well in the match.

The evenly-poised match saw a dramatic end as The Miz (unintentionally) tossed a tray of pancakes over his partners during the course of the match.

The Miz pleaded to both of them to forgive him, and that it was not his fault but a mistake. He failed in convincing them as Rusev hit The Miz with a 'Macha Kick' and ultimately Samoa Joe hit a 'Senton Bomb' before they walked out on him.

Big E saw the opportunity and scooped The Miz in the middle of the ring as Kofi Kingston hit their finishing move ‘Midnight Hour’. Big E covered The Miz for a pin and eventually won the match. The New Day team were celebrating as SmackDown LIVE went off-air!
