Indian female boxer Manju Rani reached the final of World Boxing Championships 2019. She won the semi-final against Chuthamat Raksat by 4:1 in 48 kg category. However, her opponent in the final is yet to be known as the fight for the second berth final position will be filled by Jamuna Boro and Lovlina Borgohain. Manju Rani reached the final, on the other hand, ace Indian Boxing superstar M.C. Mary Kom lost her semi-final bout against Turkey's Busenaz Cakiroglu and took home the bronze medal. Sixth-seeded Manju, playing her first World Championships, defeated Kim by a 4-1 verdict in their last-eight match. Kim had won bronze in the 2018 edition of the world championships that was held in New Delhi. The judges' points at the end of the quarter-final bout stood 29-28, 30-27, 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 in Manju's favour. Manju reached the quarter-final by defeating Venezuela's Rojas Tayonis Cedeno by 5-0.

Manju Rani will now await to know her opponent between  Jamuna Boro and Lovlina Borgohain. Jamina Boro is up against top-seeded Huang Hsiao Wen of Chinese Taipei while Lovlina Borgohain from 69kg category, will take on China's Yang Liu.
