It is always fair to compare an apple against an apple and the same is applied in sport. Female athletes compete against other female athletes and male athletes test their credentials against male opponents. So far that has been the case in sport until for the last few years, advanced technology found some female athletes with male chromosomes handing them an advantage in the match. Similar was the case for Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who was banned by the IBA (International Boxing Federation) from competing in the women’s category. Imane Khelif, Paris Olympics 2024 Gold Medallist Boxer, Is A Biological Male and Has Micropenis; Claims Unconfirmed Leaked Medical Report.
Yet the 25-year-old boxer was allowed to participate in the 66 Kg category at the Paris Olympics 2024 and she went on to clinch the gold medal. Many questions were raised and even some boxers refused to fight against Imane Khelif, but the Olympic committee stood behind Khelif. Now a recent leaked medical report has re-established the fact that Imane Khelif is a biological male and fans are once again calling out Imane Khelif to hand over the Paris Olympics 2024 gold medal. Will Imane Khelif Lose Her Paris Olympics 2024 Gold Medal?
As per the leaked report, a chromosomal test further confirmed that Khelif has an XY karyotype, while a hormone test found that Khelif had a testosterone level typical of males. The report is dated back to 2023 and might affected her participation, the Olympic committee already made their stance clear on the fact that they have allowed Imane Khelif to participate and she won the medal in all fairness. Khelif also stood against all the criticism and claimed that she deserved to be called a champion post her medal win. Considering both these factors, Imane Khelif will not lose her Paris Olympics 2024 Gold Medal.
