The Paris Olympics 2024 debuted five sports to encourage viewership, it included Breaking, commonly referred to as break dancing, and kayak cross. Several other sports including surfing, skateboarding, and sport climbing made their return to the Summer Games after their debut in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. But reports suggest that Breaking might not be part of any future Summer Olympic Games with the LA Olympics sports roster already out. As per the roster released, Gymnastics, athletics, aquatics, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, cycling, and fencing will be part of the 2028 Olympics. Flag football and squash will make their debut while baseball, softball, lacrosse, and cricket will be added after various lengths of absence. Lacrosse has not been an Olympic sport since 1908. As of today, Break-dancing is not considered in the LA 28 schedule. However, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) mentioned that formerly optional sports like skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing will transition to permanent events in 2028. Breaking could be to be part of Brisbane 2032 or event later editions of the Summer Olympic Games, but as per multiple reports Breaking failed to make the desired impact on the targeted audience, and Paris Olympics 2024 will be its first and last appearance in the Summer Olympic Games.
