Neeraj was preparing in Europe before the Paris Olympics and let go of the Diamond League event held in Paris. He provided an update as it was not in his plan for the preparations. He reached Paris on July 30 and immediately made his intentions clear about defending his Olympic title. Since winning at Tokyo, the Indian javelin ace went on to win the Diamond League title in 2022 and an Asian Games gold medal in 2023. The athlete is determined to defend his title and his current form is also hinting at the same.
