India's premier batter, Virat Kohli, has landed in Australia ahead of the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between the Indian national cricket team and the Australian national cricket team. Kohli departed from Mumbai on November 10 (Sunday) and touched down in Perth on November 11 before any other Team India member, who are supposed to arrive in batches of two. As reported by The West Australian, Kohli along with other members of the India cricket team — players from the first batch — will start their training for BGT 2024-025 from Tuesday (November 12), with the venue being under complete lockdown to keep players away from any unwarranted attention.

The training session will take place at the WACA, which traditionally used to host the first Test of Australian summer before the new Perth stadium became a crowd favourite.

Interestingly, the first batch of Team India members for the five-Test series have also made their way to Perth, including Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Washington Sundar Posts Instagram Story as Indian Cricket Team Arrives in Perth Ahead of IND vs AUS 1st Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 (See Pic).

The BGT 2024-25 is crucial for Kohli, who has seen a rough patch of late and would want to start dishing out runs in Australia, a country where the batter enjoys scoring plenty. The BGT 2024-25 gets underway on November 22, with the first Test between Australia and India being held at Perth Stadium in Perth.
