Independence Day of India is fast approaching and for the special celebration on 15th August 2018, star cricketer Virat Kohli has an interesting plan. The 29-year-old cricket captain who takes a lot of pride in being an Indian posted a video on Instagram about making Independence Day 2018 celebrations memorable. Virat introduced a new challenge called ‘VeshBhusha’ in which the dashing batsman is asking every citizen of the country to wear traditional Indian dress. He nominated fellow Team India members, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant, to kick off the national festival celebrations. Virat Kohli wears patriotism on his sleeves, and his undying affection towards the country is unmissable. With the country all ready to commemorate 72nd Independence Day on August 15, Wednesday, Kohli wishes to celebrate in style. The star player shared a video in which he is seen wearing a traditional kurta in saffron colour. The short clip begins with Virat mouthing a memorable quote by Indian leader Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose – “Tum Mujhe Khoon Do Main Tumhe Azadi Dunga”. The Delhi batsman then goes on to say how he remembered these patriotic quotes in his childhood and that how some habits never change. Pointing at his collar, Kohli said about donning ethnic wears on 15th of August to celebrate Independence Day. He adds how he would wear his #VeshBhusa to continue the age-old traditions. Not just him, Kohli asked others to do the same.

Honestly, at first, we did think it to be a promotional campaign for his brand, Manyavar (he could be wearing it though), but it turned out to be an incredible way to highlight the importance of the big day in the history of our country. We love how Virat Kohli used the social media challenge as a way to get everyone interested in it. Interestingly, his wife Anushka Sharma is also going to be seen with Varun Dhawan in a movie, Sui Dhaga - Made in India based on the stories of self-reliance and high spirits of a tailor and embroider rooted in an earthy town of India.
