Vinesh Phogat, who qualified for Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Wednesday, said that she is too happy to qualify for Summer Olympics 2020. The Indian woman wrestler secured Olympic berth after defeating Sarah Hildebrandt 8-2 in World Wrestling Championships 2019.

Vinesh Phogat, who qualified for Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Wednesday, said that she is very happy to qualify for Summer Olympics 2020. The Indian woman wrestler secured Olympics 2020 berth after defeating Sarah Hildebrandt 8-2 in World Wrestling Championships 2019. She qualified for the bronze medal playoff bout in the 53kg category after the result. A Twitter video showed the 25-year-old taking about her qualification to Tokyo Olympics. Indian fans also congratulated the Indian wrestler for booking a seat in Tokyo Olympics. Vinesh Phogat Becomes 1st Indian Wrestler to Secure Quota in 2020 Tokyo Olympics After Defeating Sarah Hildebrandt in World Wrestling Championships.

She also says she is very happy to get an opportunity to bag a medal in World Championships. On Tuesday, she defeated reigning Olympic medalist Sofia Mattsson 12-0 in the opening round of the event. However, she suffered a pre-quarter-final defeat 7-0 against reigning champion Mayu Mukaida of Japan at the World Championships 2019.

She is the first Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Sarita Mor (57kg) and Kiran Bishnoi (76kg) were other two Indian wrestlers in line for a bronze medal but they lost their respective qualification matches. Vinesh Phogat is a popular Indian woman wrestler. She has won two gold medal in Commonwealth Games, in 2014 and 2016. She has also won multiple silver and bronze medals in Asian Championships.
