Australia, April 7: The weightlifting category in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games continue to get medals for India as Venkat Rahul Ragala wins Gold in Men's 85 kg weightlifting event. This is India's sixth medal overall and fourth gold medal at the sporting event. The performance of India weightlifters at the 2018 Commonwealth games has been remarkable so far with four gold already in the bag.
Ragala Venkat Rahul was born on 16 March 1997 and is an weightlifter who at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, had won the silver medal in the 77 kg category before winning gold medal in the men's 85 kg weight class at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia on April 7, 2018:

This feat by Ragala Venkat Rahul has taken India's total medal tally to six medals. India now has four gold medals- all of which have come in the weightlifting apart from one silver and one bronze so far. Indian sports fans can look ahead for more medals from Indian contingent at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Mirabai Chanu, P Gururaja, Sanjita Chanu, Deepak Lather, Sathish Kumar Sivalingam and now Ragala Venkat Rahul have all won medals for India so far in the Commonwealth Games 2018.
