In an unfortunate car accident in Venezuela, former Los Angeles Angels infielder Luis Valbuena and former Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jose Castillo lost their lives, on December 6, according to news reports. Local news outlets El Emergente and Meridiano, too, reported about the incident also. Many US-based news outlets have confirmed about the car crash too.
The 33-years-old Luis Valbuena was a professional baseball player who played for Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels in his 11-year career.
The 37-year-old Jose Castillo was a professional baseball player too. Castillo played for Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, Houston Astros, and Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball and the Chiba Lotte Marines and Yokohama BayStars of Nippon Professional Baseball, after making his debut in the year 2004.
Media reports have claimed that their car hit the rock and it crashed off the road. Carlos Rivero was reportedly driving the vehicle, while the car crash took place. However, Rivero seems to have survived the car crash, while the other two (Luis Valbuena and Jose Castillo) died in the accident.
