While sharing the story on his official Instagram handle Nyjah Huston mentioned that it looked like the medals went into a war. Nyjah Huston said, “Alright, so these Olympic medals look great when they’re brand new, but after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat for a little bit and then letting my friends wear it over the weekend, they’re apparently not as high quality as you would think,” he said. “I mean, look at that thing. It’s looking rough. Even the front. It’s starting to chip off a little. So yeah, I don’t know, Olympic medals, you maybe gotta step up the quality a little bit. Medal looks like it went to war and back."

The medals for Paris Olympics 2024 feature a sliver of the Eiffel Tower as an homage to the host city, however, the actual composition of medals varies per Olympics. Gold medals are predominantly silver with a gold finish. Bronze medals are mainly made of copper, zinc, and tin.
