The official Twitter account of the apex Hockey body took to Twitter and announced the pools, the teams are divided in. 12 teams will participate each in Men’s and Women’s hockey events at Tokyo which are divided into two pools of six teams each.
Tokyo Olympics 2020 is less than one year away and athletes from all-round the world are gearing up to make a mark in the gala-event. Hockey will be among one of many sports being played in the tournament and the participating teams will leave no stones unturned to win medals for their country. International Hockey Federation have announced the pools for the Men’s and Women’s hockey team participating in the tournament and all the sides will do their preparation, keeping their opposition in mind. The Pool A of Men’s event consists of Australia, Spain, Argentina, India and Japan. While, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Canada, South Africa and Great Britain are placed in the Pool B. Coming to the Women’s event, Pool A consists of Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, India, South Africa and Great Britain. In their Pool B, Australia, Spain, Argentina, China, and Japan are placed.

The next edition of Olympic Games will be played between July 24 and August 9, 2020, and Being the host nation, Japan qualified for the mega-event by default. While four teams qualified by winnings their respective Continental Champions and seven sides earned the berth through the 2019 FIH Olympic Qualifiers. So, all the teams would be buckling up to grab gold medals in the biggest multi-sport event in the world.
