Tiger Woods secured his first title after more than five years by completing a two-shot win in Tour Championship in Atlanta. The 42-year-old recorded a one over par 71 to claim the 80th overall title of his outstanding career. The last few years have been challenging for the 14-time Major winner owing to the scandals in his personal life and his injury. His victory has once again helped him prove his credentials at the big stage and sent his fans into a meltdown. Twitter users congratulated the champion for his phenomenal victory.

Woods was congratulated by his girlfriend Erica Herman who stood by him in tough times and also his bagman La Cava who also supported him and refused to take another employer. Twitter, as usual, exploded as the Maestro won the Championship.

"Beginning of the year (winning) was a tall order. But as the year progressed I found my swing and put the pieces together and I knew I could do it," Woods told AFP, speaking about his victory.

He said that it has been a tough victory and thanked all the people who had supported him during his tough times. “Some of the other players knew what I was struggling with. It was really special to see them at the green on 18. It's just hard to believe I won the Tour Championship," Woods told AFP.
