A logo is a prominent part of the global sports event as it gives an identity to a tournament. Olympic Games is no different. The official logos of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games were unveiled by Japan's Olympic organisers in 2016. The logos, however, were not quite a hit among the Olympic enthusiasts who found it to be "boring." Now as one nears the quadrennial event, one witnesses a rise in a number of fan-edited logos. But there's one fanart that has garnered many eyeballs. A UK-based designer has come up with a new design for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and it is widely appreciated by people around the world.
The official logo of Tokyo Olympics 2020 (Summer Olympics 2020) consists of a circle made of checker patterns with five rings of Olympics below. Tokyo 2020 is written between the designs of the circle and Olympic rings. The original design is made by incorporating traditional Japanese colours and patterns and said to represent the intercultural themes of the Games. According to the organisers, "It incorporates the message of 'unity in diversity'," and the Games "seek to promote diversity as a platform to connect the world". But one cannot deny the attractiveness of the design made by Daren. Olympics 2020 will be played from July 24 to August 9, 2020, and will be hosted by Japan in their national capital Tokyo.
