Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik are all set to welcome their first child later this year. Sania might have withdrawn from the major tournaments, but she still makes it a point to not stay out of touch with the sport. Yesterday the tennis ace was seen at the tennis court with her father Imran and sister Anam. The two sister played a match and their father kept an eye on the game and kept on advising Anam about the “wrong foot.”
It was a friendly fight and it was Sania who walked away with the victory. Anam Mirza posted the video of the game with the caption, “Getting Mom-to-be to hit a few balls. @imranmirza58 doesn’t think too much of my tennis skills 😂 @mirzasaniar #zerotennisskills.” Check out the video below.
Sania after her motherhood aims to make a comeback to tennis during the Olympic 2020 which is scheduled to happen in Tokyo. While speaking to IANS Sania said, “The 2020 Olympics is a long way off. I've said this many times that as tennis players, we wish we knew what our lives brought us tomorrow. Having said that though, it definitely looks very doable right now. But one has to wait and watch where life really takes you. Most definitely, I would say coming back to playing is the priority as soon as the pregnancy is done.” According to her pregnancy is empowering and does not hold you back in any way. “Pregnancy is not something that holds you back in any way. It's very empowering and is something that is part of being a woman and it's something I always looked forward to... having a family... (I knew) tennis is something that will take a backseat eventually,” she said.
