Wimbledon 2019 enters its second week on Monday after a fascinating and surprising first week at the grass court championship. The first week of Wimbledon saw the exit of many big names and the emergence of a prodigy named Cori "Coco" Gauff, who beat Venus Williams in the first round of Wimbledon 2019 to cause perhaps the biggest upset in this year's tournament.

In the Men's Singles, only three players out of the top 10 seed succeeded in reaching the second week. Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal eased past the week and have reached the fourth round. However, Kevin Anderson, Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas all crashed out of Wimbledon first week.

The Women's Singles saw World No 2 Naomi Osaka knocked out in the first week itself. Defending champion Angelique Kerber bowed out of the tournament too. However, seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams made it to the fourth round to avoid further heart-burn for fans.

The Rafael Nadal vs Nick Kyrgios match had enough fireworks to exceed the spectators expectations. "Why would I apologise? I won the point," said Kyrgios after his defeat to Nadal in the second round match. "I was going for him. I wanted to hit him," continued the controversial Australian player. The world number two Nadal prevailed 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-3) over Kyrgios.
