The World No 1 and the number 1 seed at Wimbledon 2019, Novak Djokovic, must be eager to prove himself at the All England Club after he failed to win the French Open 2019 and become only the second player after Rod Laver to win a calendar slam twice. The Serb was stopped by Dominic Thiem in the semi-final of French Open to see dreams of "Novak Slam" getting broken. However, Djokovic on grass is a different beast and the Serbian is considered one of the biggest contenders to lift the Wimbledon trophy.

2. Roger Federer

No male player has won as many Wimbledon titles as the Swiss great Roger Federer. The maestro will go for a record equaling ninth title at the All England Club. However, Federer is seeded number 2 and would have to face both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic and beat them before he gets his hands on the Wimbledon trophy.

3. Rafael Nadal

The 18-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, who has won the Wimbledon championship two times, is fresh of winning the 12th French Open title and seeded number three at this year's championship. Expect Nadal to go all out on grass this Wimbledon. Last year, the Spaniard lost in a five-set epic match against ace-rival Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2018.

4. Dominic Thiem

Though the Alaxander Zverevs, Stefanos Tsitsipas and other GenNext players are around, the one player out of the 'Big Three' league who can really challenge the Federer-Nadal-Djokovic hegemony in the Grand Slams is Austria's Dominic Thiem. The Austrian beat Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the French Open 2019 but lost to Nadal for the second consecutive year in the French Open final. Experts feel a Grand Slam is due for the young Thiem.

5. Kevin Anderson

The last year's finalist and big-hitting South Africa born Florida based Kevin Anderson will fancy his chances at the Wimbledon 2019. Anderson beat Federer last year and produced some magical tennis on the grass court Grand Slam, winning the runners-up sliver plate at the All England Club.

The above players are definitely the ones to keep an eye on during the Wimbledon 2019 fortnight. Though an early upset is unlikely, one should not rule out surprises in Wimbledon. Wimbledon 2019 begins from July 1 and the final is scheduled to take place on July 14, 2019.
